Huawei Visit: AI Data Center Power Solutions

Experts from Huawei visited us on 29 June 2026. We enjoyed a productive technical discussion on power solutions for AI data centers, followed by a tour of our power lab. During the visit, my team successfully demonstrated the operation of an observer-synchronized (OBS) grid-forming (GFM) inverter, which is an alternative solution other than VSG, Droop and dVOC control. We recently have made progress on the theorical fundation of OBS GFM control and the paper is now under review.
